As of v1.2.0 build 21, Switches CCC requires no special features for the piston (flip the lever and press the switch).
It's still going on mods / folder (like no / coremods folder in 1.6.2).

How It Works
Switches are placed and answered like vanilla lever (you can put them on any side of a block).
Right-click a toggle switch its state between on and off.
You can convert a switch (or leverage) by having a piston extends directly against it. A retracting sticky piston will pull a lever back towards itself.
Switches made of different materials in a different way - it's totally aesthetic!
